ISA law change presents ‘huge opportunity’ for financial marketers

~ Acxiom launches solution to help institutions target 50+ savers ~

October 09, 2009

From this week, savers aged 50+ will now be able to invest up to £3,000 more in their ISAs. In response to this change in the law, Acxiom has launched a tool to help financial marketers reach out to these ‘grey savers’.

The marketing services company has details on almost one million people who currently have ISAs in the UK, or who are considering one – 600,000 of these are 49 years old and above

Marketers interested in more information on the available data should call Acxiom on 0800 035 2755 or email ukenquiries@acxiom.com.

Executive quote

“In a volatile financial market, people become much more promiscuous with their savings – they’re less likely to stick to one supplier, just because they are familiar with it,” said Fiona Sweeney, Industry Strategist at Acxiom. “This, along with the change in the law for ISAs represents a huge opportunity for financial institutions – not only to gain more customers, but to help existing ones get the best out of their products.”

Sweeney has warned that it’s crucial that financial marketers stick to a multi-channel approach: “It’s essential that companies don’t rely on one channel alone to reach people – they need to be clear on how customers and prospects like to be contacted, and vary their approach accordingly,” she continued.
