Avail Intelligence marks second anniversary with global expansion

~ CFO among five new hires and US venture marks a successful two years for e-commerce specialist ~

UK - September 29, 2008

E-commerce specialist Avail Intelligence has made five new European hires as it celebrates 300 per cent growth in contracted subscriptions in its second year of international expansion.

The company, which
uses algorithms to produce purely user-generated recommendations and reviews of products on e-commerce sites, is to open its first office in North America, based out of San Francisco. Avail expects this impressive growth to continue, helped by new appointments in the UK, Italy, Germany and Sweden, and its early success with leading brands such as Neckermann, Red Cats Nordic, GAME and Woolworths.

In the UK, Keith Venn and David Schorah join Tim Hillman as sales managers, where they will be responsible for driving Avail’s relationships with UK companies. Venn brings seven years of experience within innovative internet-based organisations, including Belmin Group. This follows 14 years with IBM. Schorah has worked in the e-commerce and retail space for 17 years with his experience including the Littlewoods Group, CSC and Zendor.

Both join at the same time as
Måns Holmgren, who will be taking on the role of Chief Financial Officer (CFO), based in Sweden. Holmgren has extensive international experience, including five years as financial analyst for Computer Science Corporation in Austin, USA and in Copenhagen. Also joining the team is Ali Kurt, sales manager for Germany and Claes Nordahl, sales manager in Italy.

“The last two years have been a real whirlwind, we’ve gone from start-up to working with key brands worldwide, including 80 per cent of the leading Scandinavian e-commerce sites,” said Rolf Elmer, CEO, Avail Intelligence.

“We welcome the new team members across Europe and look forward to seeing our customer base growing even further. The next stage is venturing into North America, a market where we are already experiencing strong interest and one which we expect to grow significantly over the next twelve months.”
