Bazaarvoice launches BrandAnswers™

manufacturers can now connect directly with shoppers by answering product questions on the world’s largest retail web sites

November 25, 2009

Bazaarvoice, pioneers in hosted social commerce applications, has launched BrandAnswers™ to directly connect manufacturers with shoppers in the retail channel and fill the information gaps that create unnecessary barriers to purchase.

BrandAnswers notifies participating manufacturers when a shopper has a question about one of their products across all retail sites that use Bazaarvoice Ask & Answer, including brands such as Halfords, Argos, Wickes, eSpares, Comet, and American Golf. The manufacturer answers the question, and it is immediately posted directly to the retailer’s site. Manufacturer answers are badged with the brand’s logo, giving the brand even more visibility on the retailer site, and showing that the manufacturer is listening and responding to shopper queries.

By engaging consumers around the information they need, manufacturers are able to build brand equity and significantly increase retail sales while also reducing returns, decreasing support costs, and offering real-time insights into consumer sentiment and behaviour.

Executive quote

“Bazaarvoice continues to create exciting new opportunities for partnerships between manufacturers and retailers to improve customer experiences and drive sales for both parties,” said Sam Decker, chief marketing officer of Bazaarvoice. “When a manufacturer directly answers consumer questions on retailer sites, they engage shoppers, shift interest to their core products, and gain insights into how consumers shop for their products. They also reduce support costs, enhance the site experience, and gain voiceshare at the retail site. This is the tip of the iceberg of a tremendous amount of value.”
