LGC cements international communication system with Centralis

UK-based system rolled out across Europe allows access for 1,200

UK - January 08, 2009

LGC, an international science-based company, has collaborated with Centralis as part of a larger project that will see the delivery of corporate IT applications to LGC’s offices across Europe from a secure, centralised UK system.

Using Citrix Provisioning Server and XenApp 4.5 and working with independent consultancy Centralis, LGC has developed a highly resilient and scalable application delivery system.

This will allow 1200 staff across its LGC Forensics, Life & Food Sciences, Research & Technology and LGC Standards divisions to access the IFS ERP system in their local language from any of its sites across the continent.

Delivered from the UK headquarters in Teddington, Middlesex, the bespoke solution designed by Centralis will be housed across two server rooms with a third facility dedicated to disaster recovery planned for early in 2009 .

The implementation will also mean that any problems that may lead to downtime across the group can be resolved, while implementing any updates will be far simpler than before. In addition, new Citrix Servers can be rolled out in ten minutes across the virtualised environment due to the capabilities of Provisioning Server.
