Dickinson Dees advises on £52 million PFI for London Fire Authority

national expertise secures major scheme to provide ten new fire stations across the capital

December 13, 2007

Leading law firm Dickinson Dees LLP has been appointed to advise the London Fire and Emergency Planning Authority (LFEPA), which runs the London Fire Brigade, on a £52 million PFI scheme.

The scheme will enable the Authority to rebuild up to ten new fire stations across the capital. Works are expected to start by 2011 and the stations will follow specifications required for a modern 21st century fire service fire service, including the ability to store large technical equipment as well as facilities for male and female firefighters. This will help the London Fire Brigade to deliver a fully modernised and professional fire service for Londoners in buildings which are open and accessible to the community.

This is the fifth Fire Authority PFI scheme Dickinson Dees has been involved in across the UK, following key projects in the North East, North West and South West (Dorset) regions. Through its work on these projects, Dickinson Dees has provided support to both public and private sector parties involved in PFI fire procurement.

The legal team is being led by Kevin Robertson, a partner and PFI expert at Dickinson Dees, and involves members of its projects, property and construction practice areas.
