Yule never believe it – men rein in Christmas Eve shopping frenzy

research reveals that men plan to start Christmas shopping earlier this year - November 19, 2009

Only five per cent of men plan to do their Christmas shopping on Christmas Eve this year, according to research from everydaysale.co.uk.

In fact, one in four men claim to have already started their Christmas shopping, and one in five aim to have bought all their presents by the end of November.

The research revealed that most men (30 per cent) will be starting their Christmas shopping between two and four weeks before.

“It’s clear the recession has forced many men to give up the unprepared, last-minute shopping spree on Christmas Eve,” said Bonn Chen, CEO for everydaysale.co.uk. “At last, they are starting to switch on to the great deals that can be found with a little extra planning, not to mention how stress-free the experience can be.”

Chen continued: “The money that can be saved by shopping even a week in advance can go a long way, and could prove very helpful during the expensive Christmas period.”
