November 18, 2008

Boehringer Ingelheim, in partnership with IDS Scheer, has developed a company-wide business process management (BPM) framework to standardise operating procedures. The improved transparency makes it possible to implement processes more quickly and efficiently, enabling the company to react more flexibly to changing market requirements.

Boehringer Ingelheim belongs to one of the top 20 leading explorative pharmaceutical manufacturers in the world and is made up of 135 companies. IDS Scheer has helped the organisation meet company-wide standardised requirements for holistic process management, in order to plan and undertake long-term strategic management measures.

With the global implementation of IDS Scheer’s ARIS software to help refine existing business processes, the role and responsibilities of each process manager are clearly defined. The need to coordinate departmental and international processes is reduced. This delivers more flexibility during process changes as well as facilitating the identification of interfaces and possible weak points.
