Kofax appoints two industry veterans to enhance and expand its channel partner and business development initiatives

Barbara Lanci named senior director of partner strategy and development and Dan Lucarini named senior director of business development

UK - April 22, 2009

Kofax plc (LSE: KFX), the leading provider of Intelligent Capture & Exchange solutions, today announced the appointment of Barbara Lanci as its senior director of partner strategy and development and Dan Lucarini as its senior director of business development. The appointments reinforce Kofax’s commitment to enhance and expand its channel partner programs and business development initiatives in alignment with the company’s hybrid go-to-market model, which supports both indirect channels as well as direct customer engagements.

Lanci will oversee global channel programs and implement strategies for creating new routes to market for Kofax and its partners. Lucarini will lead strategic business development activities to identify and connect with enterprise application ISVs (Independent Software Vendors) and their services organisations to drive additional revenue growth. The two will report to Jim Vickers, senior vice president of OEM & partner strategy at Kofax.

Prior to joining Kofax, Lanci served as vice president of security brand business development with CA, Inc., one of the world’s largest IT management software providers, where she was responsible for merger and acquisition strategy, OEM and reseller agreements, technology alliances and channel go-to-market planning. Before that, she led channel strategy and business development activities for a variety of companies, including Digital Equipment Corporation, Netuitive, Inc., e-Security, Inc. and Access360. Lanci also previously worked with Kofax as director of channel programs, where she spearheaded the launch of channel sales and marketing programs in the late 1990s.

Before coming to Kofax, Lucarini was senior director of product marketing and strategy for Captaris, Inc. (now Open Text Inc.), a leading provider of document process automation solutions, where he was responsible for business development and strategic marketing and planning for four product lines generating more than $100 million in annual revenues. Prior to that, Lucarini was vice president of marketing & business development with Information Management Research Inc. (IMR), where he spearheaded the global launch of an award-winning document management software product. He has also served in senior business development, sales and product marketing roles with CC Data Software Inc., IOTech Inc. and Tecmar Inc. Lucarini currently serves on the Board of Directors of AIIM, the world’s largest enterprise content management association and as Chair of their North American Vendor Advisory Council.

“This is an exciting time to join Kofax and to be part of a strategically-focused company that is extending its global market leadership through both channel and direct sales,” Lucarini said. “I’m looking forward to building channel and OEM relationships that support our organisation’s growth strategies.”

The appointments of Lanci and Lucarini are the latest in a series of major initiatives to further enhance Kofax's market position and growth potential. These include adopting Kofax as a single corporate brand and company name, restructuring the corporation around global business functions, realigning and better focusing the company's sales resources and introducing new revenue growth initiatives.
