Kofax unveils new release of its document exchange server software

Version 2.0 offers enhanced ease-of-use and enterprise-wide deployment capabilities

Kofax plc (LSE: KFX), the leading provider of Intelligent Capture & Exchange solutions, today announced a new release of Kofax Document Exchange Server, an enterprise-ready solution that simplifies and accelerates document-driven business process automation by extending back-office capture to front-office environments.

Kofax Document Exchange Server enables an organisation’s customer-facing employees to capture documents in the front office, where they originate, via multi-function peripherals (MFPs), desktop scanners and fax machines. As a result, organisations can improve the efficiency of document-centric business processes, speed processing times, reduce operating costs and enhance customer service.

Kofax Document Exchange Server 2.0 includes new features that significantly enhance ease-of-use, ease-of-administration and performance. Among these are user interface enhancements that streamline functionality and improve accuracy as documents that are processed as well as support for multiple languages. Administration improvements include support for LDAP and Active Directory to ease configuration and improve security. For organisations that utilise WebLogic application servers and Oracle 10g database software, the release offers greater availability and scalability.

Along with these enhancements, the new software offers the ability to use TWAIN-based document scanners and includes a Web Services SDK to facilitate customised connections from other input sources.

Ideal for large organisations in document-intensive industries such as financial services, insurance, government and healthcare, Kofax Document Exchange Server is already being deployed at a number of customer sites. These include, for example, Dexia Insurance, one of the top five insurers in Belgium, which has implemented the software to automate the processing of insurance documents originating at more than 325 different branch locations.
