SPSS honours Digital+ for best use of Predictive Analytics software

Spain’s leading pay-per-view television provider and SPSS Franchises receive awards at SPSS’ European Customer Conference 2008

May 14, 2008

Athens, Greece — May 14, 2008 — SPSS Inc. (Nasdaq: SPSS), a leading worldwide provider of Predictive Analytics software and solutions, today announced Digital+, Spain’s leading pay television provider, as the winner of the SPSS Insight Award™ 2008. Digital+ received the ‘Insight Award for Excellence and Innovation in Predictive Analytics’ for successfully improving the customer experience and strengthening relationships with its viewers.

SPSS’ Insight Award is the Company’s top honour for customers, and was presented to Digital+ at Directions 2008, the company’s European User Conference in Athens, Greece. The Insight Award recognises the customer that has most effectively driven the widespread use of data to improve decision-making.

Digital+, part of Sogecable, made outstanding improvements to the overall customer experience by using SPSS Predictive Analytics in its call centre operations. SPSS software equipped call centre agents with instant, reliable data in a “pop-up” card providing information on each customer, including key data on their contract and product package. This helped Digital+ enrich the relationship with each customer. SPSS Predictive Analytics was the key technology in improving customer acquisition, satisfaction and loyalty, and contributed to a significant increase of customer retention within only two months after deploying SPSS’ predictive models.

Alex Kormushoff, senior vice president of worldwide field operations at SPSS, said, “SPSS is excited to recognise Digital+ as the winner of the Insight Award, as the implementation of SPSS Predictive Analytics into their daily operations has changed business processes in real-time and has enhanced decision-making, improving the overall customer experience and boosting profits.”

Nominations were evaluated on criteria including business impact, productivity improvements, magnitude of change, breadth or depth of analytics used, innovation, service improvements and lessons learned.

Additionally, SPSS honored SPSS Korea, SPSS Greece and SPSS Brazil with the SPSS Franchise Award 2008 for performance, revenue growth, and expertise in SPSS’ Predictive Analytics software, and contribution to business development in Asia, Europe and Latin America. SPSS has approximately 50 franchises and distributors, covering nearly 90 countries, which offer SPSS software and solutions, technical support, training and consulting services to expand the global reach in emerging markets.
