Coca-Cola Italy drinks to success

Company embraces mobile printing with Zebra Technologies

Coca-Cola HBC Italy has chosen RW420 mobile printers from Zebra Technologies Corporation to improve its daily delivery processes.

The printers help track all goods leaving Coca-Cola’s eight largest storage facilities in Italy as part of a project to be completed by the end of this year.

The solution is combined with the Motorola MC9000 mobile computer and a route pad for housing both devices, facilitating easier transport and recharging. These devices are synchronised with Coca Cola’s bMobile Delivery application which tracks deliveries online. In this way, the recipient can receive a delivery note free of manual corrections and with any revised charges clearly set out.

“We are very proud that Italy is the first country where the company has implemented this solution. It has made a remarkable improvement in managing processes and back-up work,” said Claudio Ferla, mobile solutions business system manager, Coca-Cola HBC Italy.

“The partnership between Zebra and Motorola’s Enterprise Mobility business allowed an easy and problem-free roll-out, enabling us to be efficient in a very short time,” continued Claudio Ferla. “Future project implementations will provide immediate final invoices at the time of delivery, printed with the RW420 mobile printer. This will further reduce invoice sending costs and speed up the ‘time to cash’ process.”

Designed to meet the demands of the mobile work force, the Zebra RW420 is a solid, reliable and rugged mobile printer. Its weight is half that of a common mobile printer and it performs seven times faster. The RW420 can be carried or worn comfortably all day. Designed for road warriors, it can be easily managed and is also water resistant. Printer battery endurance and easy paper loading reduces damage and the number of times the unit is off-line for repair.
