humyo.com synchs storage for UK SMEs

WorkSpace upgrade helps avoid duplication and encourage collaboration

UK - February 12, 2009

Online storage specialist humyo.com has upgraded WorkSpace – its cloud storage solution aimed at small businesses – to make online collaboration and version control even easier. Changes to files and folders stored with humyo.com will now be automatically replicated online and to any PC connected via the web.

humyo.com developed the automatic synchronisation function for WorkSpace to ensure that files and folders are updated automatically without the need for user interaction. This removes many of the dangers associated with data duplication and makes editing, reviewing and collaborating on shared documents easier. It also ensures that in the event of data loss, the most recent version of a file is available for recovery.

The latest version of WorkSpace also includes a news feed of recent activities, giving users an overview of changes and events and helping them track progress on shared projects more easily.

WorkSpace, launched in late 2008, enables businesses to manage all their IT data storage securely online without the need to invest in costly file or backup servers and software. It offers safe and secure storage space for business files, which can be accessed from any computer or mobile phone.

Executive quote

“When times are tough, small businesses need to focus on their core business – they don’t want to have to be worrying about how well their IT equipment and solutions are working,” said Dan Conlon, founder of humyo.com. “Our solution improvements are designed to make their lives easier and leave them safe in the knowledge that their online files are safe, secure and up-to-date.”

Pricing and availability

WorkSpace is available from http://www.business.humyo.com and costs from £99 per year for a four user licence.

NOTES TO EDITORS

About humyo.com. (www.humyo.com)

humyo.com was founded in January 2007 as a means to provide a safe and secure storage space for personal files, accessible through a computer or a mobile phone. humyo.com offers users 10GB of space for free to store and share anything from documents to music and video files, no matter where you are. It negates the inflexibility of leaving your data at home or at the office, and the risk of loss, theft or damage that comes from taking your files around with you in your pocket or on your laptop.

humyo.com takes all possible measures to ensure the security of user data including 256-bit encryption, firewalling, and a partitioned network. In addition, humyo.com's servers are stored in a former Bank of England gold bullion vault with bomb-blast corridors and blast-proof steel gates.

humyo.com was founded by Dan Conlon, a dotcom entrepreneur who sold his first business to Pipex, where he became MD of Hosting. The business is privately funded.
