AmiNET530 Completes MPEGIF Logo Qualification Program for MPEG-4 AVC/H.264

World’s first HD MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 IPTV DVR STB to obtain top level conformance

Cambridge, UK - November 06, 2007

Amino, the world leading IPTV platform supplier, today announced that its AmiNET530 Set-Top Box (STB) is the first HD MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 IPTV DVR STB to meet the Premium Conformance Tier of the MPEG Industry Forum (MPEGIF) Logo Qualification Program.

MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 is part of the MPEG-4 standard (MPEG-4 Part 10) and enables the AmiNET530 to deliver video compression offering high quality at low-bit rates. This effective compression technology offers excellent results across a broad range of bandwidths including the transport of High Definition (HD) streams for entertainment services and TV broadcasting.

The AmiNET530 is an advanced, compact and cost-effective DVR/PVR IPTV STB, which combines the benefits of low bit-rate codecs including MPEG-4 AVC (H.264) and offers the user the ability to drive high definition displays via analogue and HDMI connections. This advanced interactive STB also includes the ability to view recorded content either locally or via other connected STBs in the home.

About MPEG Industry Forum
The MPEG Industry Forum (www.mpegif.org), the world’s largest advocacy group for MPEG technologies, represents more than 40 international companies and organizations from diverse industries and promotes the adoption of MPEG standards. MPEGIF, founded in 2000, has played a significant role in facilitating the widespread adoption and deployment of MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 as the industry’s standard video compression technology powering next generation television and most mainstream content delivery and consumption applications including packaged media. MPEGIF, with more than 2500 people subscribed to its mailing lists, serves as a single point of information on technology, products and services for these standards, offers interoperability testing, a conformance program, marketing activities and is present at international trade shows and conferences.

The program, based on a self-certification process, is free of charge and open to all companies using MPEG technology, not just members of MPEGIF although, membership is encouraged. Qualified products have the right to display the MP4 Qualification Mark and also list their status in their documentation, literature, and advertising.
