Amino Wins International Award at IBC Conference

CSI award for the best IPTV technology presented to the AmiNET125

Cambridge, UK and Amsterdam, Holland - September 12, 2007

Amino, the world leading IPTV platform supplier, has won the CSI Product of the Year Award in the category “Best IPTV technology”, ahead of the Microsoft® Xbox360® solution for IPTV, and Packetvision®’s IPYV Addressable Advertising Service. This is the third international accolade given to Amino’s multi-codec range of STBs in the last two years.

Based on the popular award-winning design of the AmiNET series of STBs, the AmiNET125 is a stylish multi-codec STB for IPTV, Video On Demand (VOD) and Internet TV applications. The AmiNET125 enables two different TV delivery methods:

Internet TV – The AmiNET125 brings Internet TV from the PC to TV using Windows Media 9 and the Opera Internet browser. This opens up a world of niche or ‘long tail’ content. The STB plays streams directly from standard Window Media servers and supports an expanding range of features including WMDRM 10 and Orb Networks’ MyCast software (the world’s first integration of the Orb technology in an IP STB).

Telco TV – IPTV and Video on Demand (VoD) applications are hosted on a flexible, reliable platform, allowing for the development of new services with the potential to increase subscriber revenue. The AmiNET125 enables additional services such as video conferencing, gaming and VoIP, and its adaptive DSP-based codec allows for the addition of future streaming formats. The AmiNET125 was the first STB to integrate the AVS codec for the Chinese IPTV market.
