Amino achieves further milestone with certification of AmiNET125 for Minerva iTVManager Platform

Multi-Codec Set-Top Box (STB) obtains conformance and extends Amino’s portfolio of market-leading IPTV solutions

Cambridge, UK - September 17, 2008

Amino Communications, the world leading IPTV platform supplier, announced today that its AmiNET125 STB has been certified by Minerva Networks, a global provider of IPTV service management software solutions, for the delivery of entertainment and communications services over broadband networks. This extends the portfolio and complements the existing certification for H.264 high definition (HD) services with the AmiNET130, by adding a lower cost H.264 standard definition (SD) option.

The AmiNET125, a SD multi-codec STB designed for IPTV and Internet TV applications, has successfully completed Minerva’s lab and field trials, and is now deemed fully compatible with Minerva’s iTVManager 3.x platform in an end to end approved ecosystem.

The AmiNET125 offers service providers the ability to deliver a cost-effective SD solution in the MPEG-4 space. Combining proven hardware and software architectures with the latest processor and peripheral components, the AmiNET125 is able to achieve the best results in terms of reliability, performance and cost. It includes a programmable multi-codec digital signal processing, capable of MPEG-2, H.264 and Windows Media Version 9. In addition, with a system-on-chip solution, the AmiNET125 combines a powerful central processing unit (CPU) in a cost effective single package that can be field-upgraded to support the addition of new services and codecs. As a result this will help increase the service providers’ average revenue per user (ARPU).
