EMB Marks Milestone Year with Global Expansion

‘Accessible experts’ of P&C insurance industry increase presence in the US and worldwide

San Diego, CA - September 26, 2008

EMB, the leading property and casualty (P&C) consulting firm, celebrates its 15th year with the opening of an office in the Netherlands and two new offices within the US, all part of its global initiative to provide P&C insurers with enhanced services. This development is a result of a corporate and brand strategy review and, based upon client research across the world, the consultancy is rebranding globally to reflect closer collaboration among countries.

The Amsterdam office will be headed up by Bart Kling who joins from Watson Wyatt, where he co-ordinated all P&C activities across Europe. In the US, EMB has expanded its presence nationwide over the past year to include offices in Cleveland, Ohio and Norfolk, Virginia with a third office opening soon in Stamford, Connecticut. Also, showing EMBs dedication to global expansion of its industry expertise, partners Rory OBrien and Duncan Anderson were added to the global team, as well as four senior consultants and a managing director from the US.

EMB has also launched two new strands to the business: EMB Marketing Sciences and EMB Professional Development. EMB Marketing Sciences brings analytical and modelling expertise to marketing strategies, and EMB Professional Development provides an extensive range of education programs on the operational management of an insurance company. This program is designed for all levels from graduates to the board and is a natural extension of EMB University, EMB's ongoing industry-leading educational Webinar series.

Executive quote

This year we celebrated our 15th year in business and it has been a major milestone for us, said Andrew English, Partner and Co-Founder of EMB. The appointment of two new partners really demonstrates our commitment to develop the business. Drawing from past experience at Deloitte Consulting, Rory OBrien will grow our business consulting practice, while Duncan Anderson brings experience from Watson Wyatt to reinforce our personal lines expertise internationally.

Weve been able to expand our reach in the US, with offices across the nation and with the addition of the expertise of new employees, says Tom Hettinger, Managing Director of EMB America. Now that weve established a solid foundation in the US, were particularly happy to be able to unite the company globally and therefore enhance services to our customers.

Clients value our mix of global expertise and leading techniques coupled with local market knowledge, said English. In fact, clients have described us as the accessible experts, a title we strive to strengthen through this global initiative. We have always valued cooperation and information exchange with our overseas offices, and now we want to demonstrate that we truly are a united team, showcasing EMBs position as a market leader.
