Information Controls Simplifies Payroll Process with Wireless Networking from Lantronix
MatchPort b/g Pro delivers secure WiFi networking to electronic time clocks, reducing development time and cost
Lantronix, Inc. (Nasdaq:LTRX), a leading provider of secure, remote management, device networking and data center management technologies, today announced that Information Controls has deployed Lantronix’ MatchPort® b/g Pro embedded wireless networking module into its latest human capital management products. Information Controls, a service-based company helping businesses control employee time and attendance, can now connect to existing WiFi networks, while also integrating directly with its customers’ various payroll systems. This saves Information Controls’ customers’ time and reduces their installation costs.
Information Controls provides a wide-range of electronic time clocks that collect employee information using several methods, including PIN entry, proximity cards and biometric hand readers. Previously, the company leveraged Lantronix’ MatchPort® product to deliver Ethernet connectivity, but found many of its customers were requesting wireless connectivity. For this reason, Information Controls upgraded its product line by embedding Lantronix’ MatchPort b/g Pro. The product’s compact, single-socket form factor enabled quick integration, requiring minimal redesign.
Lantronix’ MatchPort b/g Pro is a programmable embedded device server that delivers WiFi networking to virtually any electronic product. It features enterprise-class wireless security and authentication protocols with built-in SSL (Secure Socket Layer) capabilities. Lantronix’ innovative SmartRoam™ technology also ensures uninterrupted, reliable wireless connectivity by continuously tracking the signal strength of nearby access points and automatically transitioning to the strongest signal. MatchPort b/g Pro adds a layer of flexibility with its Ethernet-to-wireless bridging capabilities.
Lantronix’ DeviceLinx solutions enable manufacturers to easily bring full Ethernet wired and/or wireless Ethernet connectivity to virtually any electronic device. To learn more about Lantronix’ solutions, please visit www.lantronix.com/devicelinx.

“Employee labor is typically a company’s largest expense and we are constantly looking for ways to tailor our time clocks to help organizations manage payroll efficiently, saving time and money,” said Michael Kuss, president at Information Controls. “When we looked to upgrade our solutions to meet new wireless networking demands, it was a natural choice to continue our development partnership with Lantronix. Lantronix’ MatchPort b/g Pro enables us to minimize engineering risk, and meet our goals of cutting development time and cost.”
