Micro Focus Continues Growth with Expansion of North American Management Team

Key appointments further strengthen modernization, testing and sales divisions at Micro Focus

ROCKVILLE, Md - August 26, 2009

Micro Focus (LSE.MCRO.L), the leading provider of enterprise application modernization, testing and management solutions, today announced the appointment of several key executives to its North American management team. Andrew Wickett joins Micro Focus as Director of Modernization Solutions for North America, Patrick McCarthy as Vice President of Sales for the Southeast Region, Eddie Murray as Vice President of Sales for the South Central Region, Bob Glowienke as Vice President of Sales for the North Central region and Glenn Krauser as Vice President of Human Resources in Micro Focus’ Testing Division. These new appointments are part of a strategic move to further strengthen Micro Focus’ sales channels, testing and modernization offerings and overall go-to-market strategy.

Andrew Wickett joins Micro Focus after twenty years in the IT industry. Most recently, he served as Senior Vice President, Solution and Systems at Brainhunter IT Solutions Group, a Micro Focus modernization partner. With two decades of IT experience, Wickett will work closely with customers to modernize and manage their applications to deliver reduced costs and increased flexibility. He will be responsible for enterprise modernization sales support, executing Micro Focus’ North American modernization go-to-market strategy, and championing strategic modernization programs. He will report to Owen Williams, Vice President of Application Modernization at Micro Focus.

The growth of Micro Focus’ North American sales team includes the addition of Patrick McCarthy, heading sales for the Southeast Region. Based in Atlanta, GA and reporting to Ken Powell, McCarthy is a veteran sales executive with more than two decades of experience. Prior to his role at Micro Focus, he was a Vice President of Sales with SAP America, Inc. Before that McCarthy served as Senior Vice President of worldwide sales for Selectica and held senior management roles with Novell and Autodesk and BroadVision.

Eddie Murray joins Micro Focus as the Vice President responsible for the South Central Region. Also reporting directly to Powell, Murray is based in Texas and brings a track record of success with various companies including IBM, BroadVision, Selectica, Salesforce.com. During his tenure at BroadVision, he served as President for Southern Latin America operations and was responsible for building and managing the sales, marketing, alliances and professional services organization in the region.

Bob Glowienke joins Micro Focus as Vice President responsible for the North Central region of the United States. Previously he served as Senior Vice President of Global Field Operations with Relativity Technologies and Vice President of North American Sales at SupportSoft Inc. In addition, Bob has also held a national role with BMC Software where he had a proven track record of success working with some of the largest Systems Integrators. He will also report directly to Powell.

The appointment of Glenn Krauser to Vice President of Human Resources for Micro Focus’ testing division aligns with the company's strategy of further expanding its foothold as a leader in the application testing market. Krauser brings with him a wealth of human resource experience including local, regional and international leadership roles in Arthur Andersen, Coopers & Lybrand, AT&T Solutions and comScore, Inc. Specifically, Krauser specializes in performance management, leadership development, compensation, benefits, work force planning, career development and talent acquisition.
