Micro Focus Expands with San Diego Office Opening

Office opening, strategic acquisitions and organic growth lead to increasing footprint across US

San Diego, CA - May 07, 2008

Micro Focus® (LSE.MCRO.L), the leading provider of enterprise application management and modernization solutions, today announced the opening of a new office in San Diego, California. Following last week’s announcement of a proposed acquisition of Cupertino-based NetManage and last year’s acquisition of San Diego-based Acucorp, Micro Focus continues to grow revenues and headcount. With the opening of its San Diego office, Micro Focus now has 37 offices across 17 countries, with more than 700 employees.

Micro Focus will celebrate the opening on Wednesday, May 7 with an event that will feature members of the global management team, including CEO Stephen Kelly, EVP of North American operations Kevin Moultrup, CTO Stuart McGill and CTO for COBOL solutions Drake Coker. The event will celebrate Micro Focus’ momentum globally and, specifically, in the US. Micro Focus now serves more than 15,000 customers and one million licensed users, which include over 70 of the Fortune Global 100 companies. The company has achieved revenues of $171.6 million in 2007 and $143.7 million in 2006. For the financial year ending April 30, 2008, total revenues for the full year are expected to be in the range of $226 million to $228 million, as announced by a recent pre-close update on trading ahead of expectations.

Executive quote

“Being a part of the explosive growth of Micro Focus in the US over the past year has been an incredible experience,” said Kevin Moultrup, EVP of North American operations at Micro Focus. “The US is responsible for over half of the world’s IT spending, so it represents an important market for Micro Focus. Through a combination of organic growth and strategic acquisitions, we are developing an increasingly large footprint across the United States. We will continue to build momentum, and the opening of our San Diego office is a milestone that we are proud of.”

Added Drake Coker, founder of Acucorp and CTO of COBOL solutions at Micro Focus, “The opening of this San Diego office is an important step in the integration of Micro Focus and Acucorp. We remain committed to delivering the highest level of support and business value to Micro Focus and Acucorp customers, and this move will allow us to bring further improvement to support and maintenance capabilities.
