Micro Focus Upgrades Enterprise Integration Technology Products

Affirms Commitment to NetManage Customers Through Strategic Advancements in OnWeb® and RUMBA® Solution Sets

NEWBURY, England - November 18, 2008

Micro Focus® (LSE.MCRO.L), the leading provider of enterprise application management and modernization solutions, today announced an upgrade to its Enterprise Integration Technology (EIT) products, reaffirming its commitment to the former NetManage product line. The upgrades to Micro Focus’ OnWeb® Server and RUMBA® solutions provide an end-to-end strategy for customers, allowing them to cut costs, increase security and streamline business processes.

OnWeb Server is a product that allows enterprises to transform core host systems into next generation business applications using SOA. With OnWeb, companies can deliver new solutions to solve real business problems without the complexity of rewriting code, or the lengthy, costly and risky process of an IT overhaul. This cost and resource efficiency is critical as organizations continue to look for ways to get more out of reduced IT budgets.

With this release, OnWeb adds elastic clustering support for performance and failover, which allows users to experience increased throughput and provides them with mission critical reliability. Other key updates for OnWeb Server include support for the IBM V6R1 operating system as well as SSL support for the AIX platform, providing end-to-end security from the browser to the core application. Host publishing enhancements that ease the transition from green screen applications to the Web have also been made in this new version of OnWeb.

A powerful, secure, Windows-based solution for the evolving enterprise, Micro Focus RUMBA provides users with connectivity from Microsoft Windows desktops to most host systems with mission critical reliability. The newly updated RUMBA suite offers increased security with support for longer passwords for the IBM System i, and allows new users to seamlessly migrate to RUMBA from competitive emulators. Additional updates include Windows Vista performance and stability upgrades, which provide superior user experience on Microsoft Vista.

In addition to OnWeb Server and RUMBA, Micro Focus’ ViewNow®, OnWeb® Web-to-Host and RUMBA FTP solutions have also been updated with over 100 customer and market driven enhancements. Additional Citrix and WTS enhancements have been made to RUMBA and Web-to-Host to promote ease-of-use, ease-of-administration and to double overall customer cost savings.
