Speakers representing Borland will explore agile testing opportunities and issues at STARWEST 2009

Speakers representing Borland (a Micro Focus company) will present their observations on the future of agile testing and deliver best testing practices at the STARWEST 2009 Conference in Anaheim, CA, October 5-9.

Joachim Herschmann, Product Director, Test Automation, and Dietmar Strasser, Director of Quality Assurance, representing the company will be presenting as well as participating in several sessions centered around agile testing at the conference and the STAR Quality and Leadership Summit.

In the panel discussion, “The Agile Testing Movement: Are Today’s Test Automation Tools Still Relevant?”, Herschmann will join leading industry experts to address the relevance of automation tools in the agile testing environment. This session will aim to help testers successfully navigate the obstacles associated with integrating traditional tools into an agile environment.

In “Toward 21st Century Automation for Agile Testing”, Strasser will discuss the challenges associated with shifting from traditional test automation to agile and provide best practices to avoiding these issues. Additionally, Herschmann’s session, “Improving Software Testing: One Organization’s Journey”, will review the future trends facing testers, including the need to more closely align development and testing with business requirements, the integration of normally separate practices and the increasing demand for quality testing technology.
