Quickoffice Debuts First Microsoft Office Viewer for the Android Platform
New Mobile Application Enables Viewing of Word(R) and Excel(R) Documents and Includes a Simple-to-Use File Manager
Quickoffice, Inc., the leading global provider of mobile office productivity software, today announced the release of its first Microsoft Office viewer for the Android platform, Quickoffice for Android. The product enables T-Mobile G1 phone users to access, view and manage their Word and Excel files.
With Quickoffice, users can access and view .doc and .xls files sent via a Gmail attachment or stored on a memory card. The viewing features include robust zoom and scrolling throughout the documents, all while retaining the integrity of the original document formatting. Both Word and Excel documents can also be saved to the device directly from Gmail to view later. In addition, telephone numbers, Web sites and email address are hyperlinked directly from Word files, allowing users to quickly call, visit a Web address or email with one touch.
Quickoffice for Android also makes it easy for users to manage office files on the go. The built-in Quickoffice 1.0 file manager allows users to easily navigate through folders on their memory card, rename and delete files, view properties and sort documents by name, type, size or date modified.
Quickoffice will be available in Android Market for an introductory price of $7.99. For more information, please visit http://www.quickoffice.com/quickoffice_android/
