Socialcast Chosen a 2008 ‘Crunchies’ Finalist
Internet Community Votes Company One of the Year’s Best ‘Bootstrapped Startups’
IRVINE, Calif. – (January 5, 2009) – Socialcast, a leading provider of on-demand corporate social networks and micro-sharing solutions, today announced it has been selected as a ‘Best Bootstrapped Startup’ finalist for the 2008 Crunchies, a collaborative award effort between leading technology blogs GigaOm, VentureBeat, Silicon Alley Insider and TechCrunch. The Crunchies pay tribute to the year’s most compelling and innovative startups and technology. Finalists and winners are chosen by the Internet community at large.
Socialcast was selected as a finalist in the ‘Best Bootstrapped Startup’ category, which highlights stand-out companies who have received less than $100,000 cumulatively in funding from individuals, angels and others. This year marks the second annual Crunchies Awards.
Socialcast is dedicated to aggregating, organizing and broadcasting employee communications through internal, corporate social network communities. The company offers micro-sharing and social messaging features which strengthen employees’ creativity, ability to collaborate, filter and share information with colleagues across the organizational structure, regardless of whether it is centrally located or dispersed.
Socialcast recently introduced an iPhone-optimized version of the service, as well as a Gmail plug-in and integration with Jabber to improve users’ ability to stay connected while using popular third party web services. Voting for Crunchies category winners opened on December 15, 2008 and will run through January 5, 2009 at midnight PST.
