Windows Mobile 6 to bring new levels of flexibility, performance and productivity to SoMo 650

Socket Communications, Inc. (NASDAQ: SCKT), dba Socket Mobile, Inc., an innovative provider of mobile productivity solutions, today announced that support for Windows Mobile 6 Classic will be available on the Socket Mobile SoMo 650 handheld computer as of May 1, 2008. Available as an option to new customers or as an upgrade to existing customers, Windows Mobile 6 Classic will deliver advanced mobile communications capabilities to SoMo 650 users, improving overall mobile productivity.

Currently operating on the Windows Mobile 5.0 platform, the SoMo 650 caters to the underserved segment of the business mobility market that requires a durable device with business class functionality. Windows Mobile 6 Classic will bolster the productivity of SoMo 650 users with enhanced mobile messaging capabilities including HTML email support, Microsoft Exchange server search and hardware shortcuts.

Windows Mobile 6 Classic for the SoMo 650 will be available as of May 1, 2008, and will be sold both new and as an upgrade for current SoMo 650 customers through distribution. Windows Mobile 6 Classic for the SoMo 650 will be available in English, French, Italian, German, Spanish and Portuguese.

Socket Mobile will continue to offer the SoMo 650 with Windows Mobile 5.0, giving customers a choice of operating systems that best fit their needs.
