WildPackets Extends Market Leadership with Record Customer Growth in 2007

Walnut Creek, Calif. - February 11, 2008

WildPackets, Inc., a leading provider of network and application analysis solutions, announced today that its customer base grew by more than 20% in 2007 to a record 6,000 customers. The OmniPeek product line spurred the expansion over the past year.

A snapshot of new customers includes the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Principal Financial Group, SunGard, Linsco Private Ledger and the Seattle Times.

Global Channel Expansion

In September, WildPackets announced the opening of its subsidiary office in Beijing, China. The new office will increase the sales, marketing and development presence in the promising Chinese business market.  In addition, WildPackets signed on 9 new channel partners in the APAC and EMEA regions, including ACW in Singapore and Draware in Denmark.

Product Announcements

WildPackets continued to extend the company's leadership position with the launch of key products in 2007:

* OmniVirtual: a lightweight traffic-capture service that enables IT engineers to capture and analyze traffic on virtual servers

* OmniPeek Version 5: adding advanced network forensics technology and strategic network audit, VoIP playback, 802.11 enhancements including capture support for Atheros-based 802.11n wireless network adapters, and integrated support for Aruba and Cisco access points

OmniPeek Product Family

The OmniPeek product family offers both portable and distributed solutions for troubleshooting and optimizing enterprise networks and applications. The OmniPeek product family is comprised of OmniPeek network analyzers and consoles, as well as distributed OmniEngines, which analyze data at remote locations on the network. With its open APIs and a growing family of plug-ins, OmniPeek is uniquely designed to meet the ever-changing needs of network engineers and system administrators responsible for the convergence of data, voice and video over wired and wireless networks, as well as performance optimization of mission-critical applications such as ERP, Web, Email and virtualized environments.

Customer quote

"Prior to implementing OmniPeek we often had difficulty understanding what was taking place within our network. Our IT manager was spending an abundance of time troubleshooting problems and enforcing compliance," said Ken Kerner, information security officer at the EPA. "Since deploying OmniPeek, our IT team has a translucent view into our network. Should something arise, we are able to fix it in real-time and analyze how to prevent such occurrences in the future. We can now reinstate critical services while maximizing network uptime and increasing user satisfaction."
